CASE COMPETITION

ATLANTIC SCHOOLS OF BUSINESS (ASB)
DOANE GRANT THORNTON BUSINESS STUDENT CASE COMPETITION
St. Francis Xavier University
September 26-27, 2025

ELIGIBILITY 

Any full-time business student. Teams should be comprised of three to four undergraduate business students. Other than primary data collection, communication relevant to the case with others is not allowed until after all teams have presented (students cannot discuss anything related to the case with faculty or students outside of their team).

Each participating School of Business should note how many student teams they wish to register (multiple student teams may be accepted from a single university depending upon the count of registered teams) by emailing case competition organizer: Professor Reuben Domike at rdomike@upei.ca by September 17, 2025

LOGISTICS

 

  • Case distributed by email on Friday at 11:30am.

  • A limited number of reserved rooms will be available at various times on Friday and Saturday on the St. Francis Xavier University campus for student teams that would like to work there.

  • Case resolution presentation files emailed to rdomike@upei.ca by Saturday at 11:30am.

  • Lunch available for students and faculty at St. Francis Xavier University on Saturday at 12pm.

  • Student case presentations start at St. Francis Xavier University on Saturday at 1pm.

    • Each team must not disclose their university or individuals’ surnames

    • Each team has twelve (12) minutes of uninterrupted presentation time followed by up to five (5) minutes of questions from the judges (no general audience questions)

    • Each team is expected to be respectful audience for all other teams’ presentations

 

OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS

 

Through funding from Doane Grant Thornton, accommodations for a limited number of out-of-town students who are unable to drive to Antigonish Saturday morning will be paid for Friday night, but transportation to Antigonish is the responsibility of the participants.


The booked rooms have two queen beds and are within walking distance of St. Francis Xavier University. As the number of rooms are limited, they will be assigned based on the distance to Antigonish (priority for those that need to drive further) and the quantity of teams from the same university (priority to provide funds to support one room per university) and based on the order of registration (priority for earlier registered teams).

  • 2nd Place Team: $250.00
